WiFi on HP Omen 15" Laptop

ok, make sure you have this:

`legal.intel_iwi.license_ack=1` in /boot/loader.conf
`if_iwi_load="YES"` in /boot/loader.conf

After editing "loader.conf" add:
    ifconfig_wlan0="WPA DHCP"
to your /etc/rc.conf

reboot system

Still no joy.

dmesg | grep iwm0

Btw – got notice I can’t posy today anymore. I guess new users aren’t allowed to solve problems on their first day if problem takes more than 20 replies …

There is no good news for you, as for today - this particular chipset is not supported yet in freebsd

Sorry, for making you play around for nothing.
the ac 9560 chipset is not supported
only ac 8265 at highest
This is the exact chipset info on your laptop: Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 5 Combo

It might be not so helpful/convenient, but you can use your cell phone as a network card. Connect it to your laptop on trueos via usb port, then “tether usb” in settings on your cell phone. That is what I do, as my HP has Broadcom wifi, wich also not supported in bsd.
The kernel module for android: urndis
The kernel module for iPhone: ipheth
kldload [ kernel module ]
dhclient ue0

Also, there is a usb wifi dongle as an option.
