Should I build a patched kernel? How do I?

#21

Thanks. I need help again…

# cd /etc/mail
# make freebsd.cf
make: don't know how to make freebsd.cf. Stop

make: stopped in /etc/mail
# ls -l
total 41
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 558 19 fev 13:28 access.sample
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1624 19 fev 13:28 aliases
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 4460 21 fev 17:27 freebsd.mc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 814 21 fev 17:27 freebsd.submit.mc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 2186 19 fev 13:28 freefall.mc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 293 19 fev 13:28 mailer.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 171 21 fev 17:27 mailertable.sample
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 2834 21 fev 17:27 README
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 498 21 fev 17:27 virtusertable.sample

One more question: Do I really need to build the whole kernel just to get a patched artifact? Isn’t there a way to build only the components that are affected by this file?:

sys/amd64/vmm/intel/vtd.c

This command is not working: make freebsd.cf. What is possibly the cause?

#23

I’m giving up for now. It seems that I need to have sendmail installed and configured, and, according to the file /usr/share/sendmail/cf/cf/README, it seems to take a huge PITA. :frowning:

a freebsd dependency :frowning:
