Especially since 17.12 stable update I ran into a nasty problem I haven’t yet figured out how to solve other than going to an older BE or installing into a new one.
Sometimes Lumina just doesn’t ever finish loading (“finalizing”) when trying to login. I waited 5, 10 maybe 15 minutes until I hard resetted. But that didn’t help, because with the next boot and login try I ended up having the same problem all over again.
I think it always happened when encountered the automountd problem - at the time not yet knowing that it was that problem. I was trying to access some usb sdcard reader with thunar then lumina-fm without any look, freezing both of them.
In any case, renaming /usr/home/[username]/.lumina and /usr/home/[username]/config/lumina-desktop (is that the correct name? I’m currently on Windows so I can’t check) didn’t help, so there must be something wrong outside the user config files.
I checked using Ctrl+Alt+F2 and “top”. There was no process producing extensive cpu load. So I don’t think I have that pulsaudio problem.
So, just for the future I’d like to know if I could fix that problem without having to ditch the BE altogether…
