Since the update, using LibreOffice Calc, any time I attempt to edit anything on a populated spreadsheet, lumina immediately resets, requiring me to log back in.

All I am seeing in the /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old that is of any relevance;

[193352.756] (EE) Segmentation fault at address 0x3f0
[193352.756] (EE)

Not sure what other relevant log files wold be useful. And , yes I can reproduce everytime

#2

Which graphics driver, on what hardware?

pc-sysinstaller -checkhardware

I have the same version of LibreOffice, kernel mode setting, not crashing with editions in Calc.

#3

pc-sysinstaller -checkhardware

video driver: intel
video resolution: 1920x1080

#4

Try:

  1. set aside a copy of /etc/X11/xorg.conf
  2. replace the original with a copy of the modesetting file from the cardDetect folder
  3. log out

Then retry the app

#5

Figured is was a waste of time, since the December builds, I have never been able to get into modesetting

here’s a pic of the screen, sitting at the terminal log in prompt

here is the output of the /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Just to point out - that original crash text seems to indicate the X server itself crashed. So probably some X11/driver issue where LibreOffice was just the lucky app which made the right/wrong X11 requests to crash the current driver.

#7

i was figuring it was the video driver concerning the crash

the Xorg.0.log is attempting to get the modesetting driver to work, which is a separate issue. until the video driver(s) issue settle down, then i’ll deal with the intel quirks

It is the video driver. using the grey box downstairs, STABLE and modesetting. no issues editing the same docment

#8

@RodMyers please, do you now have LibreOffice on the same computer as Blender?

#9

just installed blender and opened up a document in LibreOffice, and it opens just fine
