Home directory path, xzipped installers

Why does TrueOS use a different path for the home directory compared to FreeBSD and most Linux distros?

Its a minor difference I know but I’d like to know the thinking behind it.

Also, could you please start providing xzipped installer images? My connection is shocking.

TrueOS doesn’t use a different path for home directories than FreeBSD, it’s always been /usr/home. FreeBSD typically has a symlink from /usr/home to /home (it’s been that way as long as I can remember, since at least 3.3).
Linux distributions typically put everything in a single / directory so /home is convenient for them.

The devs will have to answer about the xzipped images

I’d not noticed /home was symlinked under FreeBSD.
