... change the shell

#1

Hello,

how can I change the shell to tcsh (now is csh installed)

Thanks and regards,
Max.

Install tcsh via app cafe or pkg install tcsh.
Then you can use the command chsh or chpass

man chsh or man chpass

#3

Another way of doing this graphically is to open the control panel and launch the “System Management” -> “Users” option. In there, select your user and on the right side you can see/change the “shell” setting.

Nothing at all has to be installed, because tcsh and csh are one and the same. Both are/is already installed by default.

% ls -i /bin/tcsh; ls -i /bin/csh
364698 /bin/tcsh*
364698 /bin/csh*
