Can I point my Steam games folder to an existing NTFS volume?

I’m sure this is a silly question that has been asked previously, but my search skilz did not yield a link. I want to tri-boot Win 10 (sorry), Fedora, and TrueOS. Since TrueOS uses PlayOnBSD to simulate Windows, is there any way to point my TrueOS Steam games folder to the same NTFS folder Windows uses (i.e., to avoid downloading the same game and updates twice).

I know nothing about Steam, but I can say for sure that TrueOS can have read and write access to NTFS partitions, and that you can map them to a volume in Wine config.

guessing here.

I would assume, as long as you can mount the NTFS drive/partition. you should be able to point the correct directory
